Admission Procedure and Withdrawals Policy
Below is an overview of the admission process at Sri Sankara Matriculation School, along with our policy on withdrawals. We strive to make both processes transparent and student-centered to ensure a smooth experience for families.
Admission Procedure
-
Parents/Guardians seeking admission for their children may visit the school office or contact us via phone or email for an initial enquiry.
-
Application forms are available at the school office during working hours. Completed forms should be submitted along with the required documents.
- Birth Certificate : An original or duly attested copy, verifying the applicant’s date of birth.
- Transfer Certificate (TC) (if applicable): Required for students coming from another school.
- Previous Academic Records (for Class I and above): Report cards or progress reports from the previous school.
- Passport-Size Photographs : Recent, clear passport-size photographs of the student (and sometimes parents, if requested).
- Depending on the class level, the school may arrange a short interaction or basic assessment to understand the child’s academic and developmental needs.
-
This step helps the faculty to place students appropriately and recommend any additional support if needed.
- Successful applicants will receive an Admission Confirmation after completing all formalities, including fee payment.
- A unique Admission Number is assigned to each student, which will remain the same throughout their schooling at Sri Sankara Matriculation School.
- The admission fee, term fee, and other applicable fees must be paid within the stipulated deadline. Failure to pay within the specified time may result in the cancellation of admission.
Withdrawals Policy
-
Parents/Guardians intending to withdraw a student must submit a *written application* to the Principal. This application should specify the reason for withdrawal and the date of intended discontinuation.
- A minimum notice period (typically one month) is required for processing the withdrawal. This time allows the school to complete relevant formalities such as preparing documentation and settling financial obligations.
- Upon withdrawal, a Transfer Certificate (TC) will be issued once all dues are cleared. The TC is generally issued within a specified timeframe (e.g., one week) after the withdrawal application is processed.
- Admission Fees are usually *non-refundable
- Other fee refunds (if applicable) are processed according to the school’s prevailing fee refund rules . Any outstanding fees for the current term must be settled in full before processing withdrawals.
- Parents/Guardians are required to clear all dues (library fines, lab fees, tuition fees, etc.) prior to the issuance of the Transfer Certificate.
- In cases of transfer, medical emergencies, or other extenuating circumstances, the school may consider a special exemption to the usual notice period or fee refund policy, at the discretion of the management.
Note:
Policies are subject to periodic review and updates to ensure alignment with educational regulations and the best interests of students.
